4. NITISH RANA
If Shreyas Iyer is ruled out, Nitish Rana is the only viable Indian captain option for KKR. Despite being a hit-or-miss player, Rana has captained Delhi in domestic competitions. The southpaw will be a risky option, but KKR may not have a choice in selecting a captain if Iyer is unavailable. It will be an additional burden for the batter, who has had a turbulent time with KKR. It will be an opportunity for him to re-energize his career, and the added responsibility may play an important role in his revival.
“I have been in constant contact with Abhishek Bhaiya for the past 12 months, and he has always been available to me.” He organises practise in Mumbai when it rains in Delhi and vice versa, and the KKR school is open all year, which is a huge help to me. Being in that type of setting is a tremendous learning experience,” Nitish Rana remarked. And, despite the fact that KKR is an IPL team that primarily concentrates on T20 and white-ball cricket, organizing extra sessions for me ahead of the Ranji Trophy is incredible.
KKR has always supported Nitish Rana, so there’s a good chance he’ll be appointed as the team’s next skipper until Shreyas Iyer returns.
