Massive Blow for RCB as they lose their prominent Indian batter Rajat Patidar.
Another setback for RCB this morning, with their top right-handed batter Rajat Patidar out for the season due to a serious Achilles’ Heel injury. This is too much for the team to bear because the number three position is still open and they would need a competent replacement.
Look at the five potential Indian replacements for Rajat Patidar in RCB:
1. Abhimanyu Easwaran
Abhimanyu Easwaran can be a good pick for RCB as Rajat Patidar’s replacement. In the IPL 2023 auction, Easwaran had a base price of Rs. 20 lakhs but remained unsold. Easwaan, like Iyer, is a top-order batter. He has yet to appear in an IPL match, but he has extensive domestic cricket expertise, having played for Bengal. He was recently named to the national team.
2. Priyam Garg
Priyam Garg, who has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last two IPL seasons, is a name that could offer the Bangalore-based team a real chance to succeed. After leading his team to the 2020 U-19 World Cup, the right-handed batter’s name rose to notoriety.
He is an excellent cricket ball striker, and if requested to bat at number three, the Meerut native could come in and play big shots right away. He went unclaimed in the IPL 202 Auction, which surprised me.
3. Sachin Baby
Sachin Baby is not a novel name in the Indian Premier League. However, despite a starting price of Rs. 20 lakhs, he did not sell. Nair has previously represented India in six Tests and two One-Day Internationals. He has played 76 IPL matches and made 1171 runs at an average of 23.75. In the tournament, the right-handed batsman has also struck ten fifties.
5. Ankit Bawne
Ankit Bawne, Maharashtra’s middle-order batsman, has been in the spotlight for the past decade or so but has yet to break free to play at the highest level. His only IPL appearance came for the Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) during the 2017 season, and he didn’t make the most of it. With a wealth of expertise under his belt, the RCB will not be disappointed if they go ahead with this selection. Bawne is renowned for his solid knocks and good technique, which can be used effectively in most situations.
