Political Interference
Political color is probably the most persistent element in cricket in the subcontinent since the IPL came in to be a part of it. It is perceived that as geopolitical factors steer the process, Pakistani players have been intimidated from playing in the IPL. The Indian government has been rather disinclined to approve security clearance measures and visas for Pakistani players out of concern for national security and diplomatic relations. Political pressure from Pakistan is one of the biggest reasons that no Pakistani team can share or play in the IPL.
