As India has its bilateral ties with Pakistan cut off, this has deepened the situation. The two countries have not met each other in the bilateral series since the two played each other in 2012–2013 after political tensions started escalating and the series was temporarily terminated. This situation of reduced cricket exchanges with Pakistan any more makes it quite difficult for the Pakistan team players to the IVL consideration. However, the interesting point here is that sport-starved India and Pakistan do not play in bilateral series. This is another reason why Pakistani players cannot play here.
