9. Faf du Plessis
When he joined CSK in 2012, South African batsman Faf du Plessis was out of form and was not a regular member of the South African limited-overs teams. Under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, du Plessis found his stride and became a reliable contributor for CSK. He established himself as a dependable top-order hitter as well as an outstanding fielder. Du Plessis’ steady efforts for CSK secured him a regular berth in the South African team, and he went on to become the South African Test team’s captain.
