Here are the top 5 players Kolkata Knight Riders can release and target in the IPL 2024 auction, as these players can decide the fortunes of KKR in the IPL 2024. The IPL 2024 auction is all set to be held in December 2023, and the Kolkata Knight Riders are up with their strategic team changes, as KKR Sureshot will release these star players from their squad and can add prominent players to their squad for the IPL 2024.
Let’s look at the five players that KKR can release before the upcoming IPL 2024 auction.
1 Lockie Ferguson
Lockie Ferguson is the first player that KKR will surely release ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Ferguson has been traded from the Gujarat Titans for an amount of around 10 crores for IPL 2023 but failed miserably and got hammered All Around the Ground by the batters even though his economy rate was very high, and by releasing Ferguson, KKR will be around 10 crores in their purse.
2 David Wiese
David Wiese was a disappointment for KKR in the IPL 2023, which is both bat and ball. Hence, KKR will look to release him ahead of the IPL 2024 auction and will look to add some more prominent players to their squad for IPL 2024. He Was brought by KKR for 1 crore but couldn’t impress KKR fans with his performance. Also to be noted, he was brought in as a backup for Andre Russell.
3 Linton Das
Linton Das had a very poor show in the IPL for KKR in 2023. KKR will definitely look to release him ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Linton Das’s performance has cost KKR a match versus Delhi in Arun Jaitley Stadium, where he dropped a simple catch and ran out of a batter, & that match was won by the Delhi Capitals.
4 Mandeep Singh
Mandeep Singh had a terrible outing in IPL 2023 for KKR. He was given enough chances but couldn’t perform at his potential and was a big letdown for KKR. KKR will look to move forward by releasing him ahead of the IPL 2024 auction and will look to add a prominent Indian domestic player to the squad.
5 Narayan Jagadeesan
Narayan Jagadeesan was a big letdown for KKR in IPL 2023 despite being given enough chances, he performed very poorly. He was seen struggling with the bat all the time he was in the crease, and his strike rate was not up to mark, which was creating pressure on Jason Roy, who was batting on the other side. He has performed exceptionally well in domestic cricket in the 50-over format, but his technique for the t20 format needs to be worked on as his strike rate is on the lower side in the T20s.
Now look at the players that KKR will definitely look to target in the IPL 2024 auction. (Next Page)
